Green Earth Insulation and Air-Conditioning have never used nor recommended the following, which do not offer comprehensive insulation qualities:
Foil Insulation
This product also has serious risk facts because of the ease in which the product can become alive with electricity.
Cellulous Fibre
This product also moves very easily in the roof cavity, losing effectiveness. As it is organic it can mould and rot, vermin are happy to nest in the fibres and as it is a paper product it can act as a fuel in the roof. There have been fires in homes installed with this product.
Asian Fibreglass
No matter how reputable the importing company, we have refused to use them. There has been a huge glut of insulation batts imported from Asia to serve the demand that the government rebate has created. We have not seen or experienced any product from this region of acceptable quality. These products primarily come in non-marked bags with considerable formaldehyde odours, sometimes with a sheet of glass through the batts. Even reputable Australian firms importing from these regions' products are inferior to those made in Australia and America.
We have always used and were the first on the Sunshine Coast to use EarthWool by Knauf. This product has no formaldehyde, petrochemicals, bleach or dyes, has the highest non-combustible rating available, will not rot or mould, has a life time guarantee and vermin will not nest in the batts. It has been given the international Greengaurd Indoor Air Quality Certification for use with children, schools and institutes.
